Exotic Fruits Tree


1. Laici Tree 荔枝.
It is a tropical fruit tree native to the Guangdong and Fujian provinces of China. 


2.Jabuticaba (Brazilian Grapetree)
Plinia cauliflora, the Brazilian grapetree, or jabuticaba, the tree is grown for its purplish-black, white-pulped fruits; they can be eaten raw or be used to make jellies, juice or wine.


3.Cashew Nut Tree 腰果.
The cashew tree (Anacardium occidentale) is a tropical evergreen tree that produces the cashew nut and the cashew apple.


4. Syzygium Cumini Tree.
Crystal fruit of Kuching city, a native fruit of Malaysia known as 'kasai' or 'matoa'. The fruit has moderate sweetness and apparently is popular with people who have diabetes.  


5. Syzygium cumini
Syzygium cumini, known as jambul, jambolan, jamblang or jamun, is an evergreen tropical tree in the flowering plant family Myrtaceae. Syzygium cumini is native to the Indian Subcontinent and adjoining regions of Southeast Asia. Also known as Java plum, Malabar plum and Portuguese plum.


6. Rambai
Baccaurea motleyana is a species of fruit tree which grows wild in parts of Southeast Asia. Each fruit has velvety pinkish, yellow, or brown skin which wrinkles at ripening and is filled with whitish pulp containing. They may be eaten raw or cooked or made into jam or wine.

 
7. Kemunting
Rhodomyrtus tomentosa, Rose Myrtle
桃金娘 Táo jīn niang(山棯) Shān rěn

The fruit has been used as a cure for dysentery and diarrhoea. A decoction of the roots or leaves is drunk as a treatment for diarrhoea and stomach-ache, and as a protective medicine after birth.

The crushed leaves are used to dress wounds. 
The wood-tar can serve as a black dye and has been used to blacken teeth and eyebrows.

Potential Bio-Control Agent from Rhodomyrtus tomentosa against Listeria monocytogenes.
